So…. Monica and Drew are friends of past clients of ours, James and Kassie, who were married on a private plantation in Mississippi. James and Kassie actually booked us because they met us while we were filming a different friend’s wedding, Amanda and Dennis, in Las Vegas.
So, it’s funny how these types of things work out. We absolutely LOVE our clients to pieces, and they are like family to us! We are so blessed to be able to document and record such beauty and love for such wonderful people!
Monica and Drew’s wedding ceremony took place in a Catholic church, followed by a reception at Botanica Gardens, in Wichita, Kansas. Originally, Monica and Drew only booked us for our cinema services, because they were willing to invest a good amount of their budget into the video, to the point where photography was something they were willing to forgo completely. What??? Forgo photography completely? Yes, I know – that seems a little crazy, and actually the opposite of what most couples do. They HAVE TO have a a really good photographer, so they typically will forgo having a videographer.
But, for Monica and Drew, they knew a wedding film was something special. They knew it was more than an image on a page. It was living, breathing, heart-thumping, adrenalin-filled, emotion-packed, LIVE MOVEMENTand SOUND and ENERGY that they wanted preserved in a living, breating movie, that felt like they could step right back into their wedding day.
Now days, most of us all own a television set, and spend a decent amount of time being entertained in front of it. For Monica and Drew, they knew the power that a wedding video would hold and wanted something that would artistically and emotionall capture who they are as couple, along with all of the people that were there with them that day. They wanted something to have that they could cherish for generations to come.
Just a couple of months before the wedding, Monica had a change of heart about photography though, and wanted to have us take photos as well. We worked up a game plan to get all of the pictures she felt were important, and yet keep most of the concentration on the video.
I absolutely cannot wait to see the final video that my hubby, Terrence, is currently working on for them! It’s going to be EPIC!:)
Drew and Monica, thank you both for including us in your very special day! You were beyond hospitable, kind, and generous to us! That means so much to us! You are a story!
We Are A Story,
Suzi & Terrence
